FAQ

Do you need an official filming permit to shoot an international documentary/ TV series in India?

Yes, you do. Permits required for filming in India for documentaries are different from those required for a TV series.

We want to film with the Railways in India. Is that possible? What about monuments?

Both are possible. But getting permits for filming in trains in India takes some time, and so must be applied for well in advance.

What other permits do you need to film in India?

Well, that depends on what kind of filming in India you are planning. Get in touch with your planned itinerary, and we’ll break it all down for you.

Isn’t there anything you don’t need permits for?

Of course there are places you can film that don’t require official permissions! This is why we tell you to get in touch with us well in advance, so that we can help decrease the number of locations where you need long-winded permits, and increase the number of locations where filming is simple. Again, mail us at the earliest, so we can help you plan.

Okay. What happens if we don’t get permits? Not that we don’t plan to.

Of course you don’t. 🙂 Especially since the Indian government has become pretty strict with foreign media. Your company and crew could get black-listed and never be allowed back for any filming in India ever again.
