Creative Director

Aparna Sanyal

Aparna is a multiple award-winning producer-director. She has been the recipient of the National Award (for film) in India, the Charles Wallace India Trust award for research in the UK, as well as recognition from the British Council as a ‘Creative Entrepreneur’. She is also the co-founder of ‘The Red Door’, a well-known mental health initiative in India. She’s travelled to, and worked with men and women (and others) in different corners of the country which have helped her form a more nuanced perspective on life. Aparna believes that a curious mind and the ability to embrace and learn from one’s experiences make for a compelling life.

Executive Producer

Vicky Mathur

Vicky makes the impossible, possible. He started off as an assistant right after school, and has taught himself everything he knows. An ace Permits and Recce person, Vicky uses his intuitive understanding of India to locate places, people and stories for shoots. A great manager and Line Producer, he uses his earthy (and wicked) sense of humour to keep a light atmosphere at work. Having built his life and career the hard way, Vicky has a good grip on the things that really matter in life. He also has a secret soft side – and never shies from helping others.

Pranami is the heart of the organisation, in more ways than one. She specialised in Journalism from one of India’s top institutes and found her sweet point in research. Manager, Reports (and Deadlines)

Ayushi Bhatt

Ayushi brings a bit of sunshine into our lives with her warm smile and outgoing personality – but beware if you slack on deadlines. With a specialisation in Education, and her experience in handling large projects for non-profits, Ayushi brings order and structure into the ways in which we do things. Her work with community schools informs her outlook to life. She excels in writing succinct reports that helps explain our work to the stakeholders we work with. She also handles our Fellowship Programs at The Red Door.

Consulting Editor

Pooja Iyenger

Pooja has been associated with us since 2008. She has edited all our long documentaries. Her wry (and no-nonsense) sense of humour and ability to get to the heart of the matter has helped us in myriad projects. With time, Pooja has gone on to do meaningful work with families that were affected by the Bhopal Gas Tragedy, and now heads a large non-profit. However her association with us continues and she still edits our most important projects!

Camera and Tech Expert

Ralph Fernandes

Reliable and fuss-free, Ralph is one of the nicest people to work with – who loves his technology enough to want to share what he knows. He is our go-to person for multiple things – from drones to cinematography, colour grades to lighting: his curiosity has made him excel in all these things. He is a nature-lover – and every now and then, he is likely to be incommunicado, as he takes off for the wilderness.
